Lifetime Achievement Award for Shurhozelie

KOHIMA, February 8 (NEPS): Minister for Higher Education and Urban Development Dr Shurhozelie has been awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) in a grant function held on February 3 last at India Habitat Center, New Delhi.  
The IAEWP which has its HQs at Alabama, USA, while presenting the “Citation” to Dr Shurhozelie, said they had appreciated the “outstanding contribution of Dr Shurhozelie, for his “attainments, achievements, qualifications, experiences and contributions,” in the fields of education, literary works, politics, social and cultural areas, etc.
Credited for the Tenyidie’s introduction in College level in 1988 and upgraded it to MA level in 1997 under Nagaland University, Dr Shurhozelie himself has written almost 40 books in Tenyidie and also has received numerous awards for his contribution in education and for literacy promotion in the state.
Saying that he did not deserve such award, Dr Shurhozelie however explained that since his works had been acknowledged by the IAEWP, he had accepted the “Award” with all “humility.”
 The “Citation” was signed by Dr Charles Mercieca, President, IAEWP, and Prof PR Trivedi, Chancellor, IAEWP, South Asia.
The grant function of the “Award Ceremony” was also attended by a galaxy of scholars, educationists from round the world and the country.
