Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland holds coordination meet

Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland held co-ordination cum welcome programme with MP S Supongmeren Jamir at Jalmahal Conference Hall on November 1.

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) held co-ordination cum welcome programme with S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Nagaland at Jalmahal Conference Hall on November 1. A press release informed that the forum shared community issues and welfare related to Minority Citizens living in Nagaland.

The MP meanwhile acknowledged the works of LMFN for the welfare of the society and accepted the existence of Non Tribal citizens including Gorkhas in various parts of Nagaland.  He said Nagas believe in Brotherhood relationship and peaceful coexistence and assured that Non Nagas can stay in any part of Nagaland with peace and harmony as brothers and sisters. Welcome note was delivered by Bishnu Bhattacharjee, Chairman, LMFN.  He expressed the aims and objectives of LMFN and appealed for safety, security and peace of of Linguistic Minority community people living in Nagaland with protection of constitutional rights.

Forum Chairman Bishnu Bhattacharjee highlighted the problems acutely faced by bonafide Non-Naga Citizens of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general. 

The Chairman stressed on basic amenities of students, youth and children from Non- Naga Community.

Gorkha Community leader Deepak Chetri general Secretary and District Gorkha Indigenous Forum and advisor LMFN spoken on behalf Gorkhas and submitted a memorandum to MP Lok Sabha. Sumit Sunar President of Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur, regarding issues of youth and feeling of insecurity amongst the youth from Minority community in some areas.

Jamir called for coordination and understanding within all communities and assured to address the issue to competent authority and said he will voice it at correct platform.  Bengali Students Union President Dipankar Sarkar expressed concern about students fraternity and their basic rights as students without any discrimination and future of the nation.
