Liroyimti/Mokokchung, February 4 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for RD & REPA, S Pangyu Phom today inaugurated the ‘Liroyimti’ (Model) village here today in the presence of a host of villagers from Yaongyimsen, Chuchuyimlang, Akhoya, Yachem and government officials some nearly sixty kilometers away from Mokokchung town.
This Liroyimti (Model) village is established in the land of Yaongyimti village under Mokokchung
district.
The chief guest, Parliamentary Secretary Pangyu Phom , while speaking at the inaugural function stressed on the word honesty. He maintained that the residents of Liroyimti should strive to be honest and that there should be no ‘ism’ or divisions on the lines of politics within the village, so that the real blessings of the land can be reaped. He further asked the Liroyimti villagers to keep their faith and trust in the Lord so that the blessings of God can be reaped by the villagers.
The chief guest further congratulated the Yaongyimsen villagers for declaring the Liroyimti village though it is yet to be officially recognized by the government of Nagaland; nonetheless he urged the villagers to plan out the village properly and challenged the people to make Liroyimti a model village to Naga people. He maintained that the villagers have to struggle to make the village a model village, though there might be various help and funds from the government. He ‘assured’ to help from through all possible means from the government side to the Liroyimti village.
Earlier the chief guest unveiled the Liroyimti (Model) Village Monolith at the village.
Chairman of NIDC & NHL, Nuklotoshi (MLA) while speaking at the function emphasized on the importance of unity and peace in the village. Being a model village, Liroyimti should stress on market business and education and compete with the other world in a positive world to be at par with the change of time, the MLA exhorted.
Representatives from Yachem Village Council and Akhoya Village Council also spoke at the function.
Chuchuyimlang cultural troupe and Moluyangpong Club of Yaongyimsen village presented folk dances at the inaugural function.
MLA, CL John and other top government officials also attended the inaugural programme of the Liroyimti village.
