Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): In the ongoing DDCA Inter-School (U-16) cricket tournament at NCA Stadium, Sovima, Little Star HSS defeated SD Jain HSS while Zakiesato HSS defeated St Mary’s HSS to enter the finals of the 6th Dimapur District Cricket Association U-16 trophy. Little Star HSS trounced SD Jain HSS by 80 runs in the first semifinals. Put into bat, Little Star scored 140/9 in 23 overs with Arjun (61) almost single handedly taking the team to a respectable score. Ajay picked 3 wickets for SD Jain. In the run chase, SD Jain were bundled out in 14.2 overs for a paltry 60 runs. Little Stars Kunal and Sumit ran amok claiming 7 wickets between them. Siyal with 11 runs was the only batsman to get to the double digits. In the second semifinal, Zakiesato HSS overwhelmed St Mary’s HSS as the former won by 138 runs. Put into bat, Zakiesato HSS made merry posting a huge 181/9 in 25 overs. Noor Ahmed made a purposeful 43 runs and was assisted by Vicky who made 30. Sujit claimed 4 wickets for St Mary’s while Rahul took 2 wickets. In reply, St Mary’s HSS were bundled out for just 43 runs in 21 overs. Suraj put up a spirited fight scoring a determined 29 runs but received no support from his teammates. Irshad claimed 3 wickets for ZHSS while Mohon picked 2. The final match is slated for March 25, 9:00 am and the DDCA has invited all cricket lovers of Dimapur to witness the game.
