LJP (Ram Vilas) appoints Richard Humtsoe as Nagaland Unit President

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Nagaland Unit has appointed S Richard Humtsoe as the new State President and Ikhiho K Yeptho as State Youth President.

The announcement regarding their appointments was made during press conference held here at Hotel Saramati on April 5, which among others had the party’s National Youth President, Pranab Kumar and other party members in attendance. 

Dwelling on his appointment, Humtsoe said that the LJP (Ram Vilas) identity was a platform for all the people irrespective of their background. 

The party will need to work hard in the upcoming days to build trust and confidence with the people of the state, he added. 

Gearing up for 2023

Speaking on the future course of action, National Youth President Kumar stated that the party will be contesting in next year’s state assembly elections, scheduled to be held during the month of March, 2023. 

‘So from today onwards we will be building our team in every district of the state,’ he announced. 

If elected to power, the party’s chief agenda will be the support for total removal of AFSPA from the state of Nagaland, he pledged. 

Kumar further highlighted that the party’s other core focus would be working towards resolving the Indo-Naga political issue as well, besides addressing other key issues such as unemployment, corruption, and for overall development of the state.

He also pointed out that the party has brought up the issue towards the need of setting up of a National Youth Commission at the Centre for empowerment of young people at the grassroots and for looking after their needs.  

The LJP (Ram Vilas) is led by Chirag Kumar Paswan, the son of late Ram Vilas Paswan, after a split occurred within the party prior to the last Bihar state elections of October-November 2021.
