LMS Wokha records their biggest achievement

Kohima | May 3 : The lesser known and smaller schools are proving to be competition for the more older and reputed schools especially private institutions, which is evident by securing top ranks in the recent annual HSLC results. Upcoming School, Libemo Memorial School (LMS) Wokha is also one among the hundreds of school, under Wokha District with the first batch that secured highest percentage with a record of 96%, and two toppers in the recently declared HSLC result, unlocking the key to success for the School. 25 students of LMS competed for the first batch where 24 students accomplished the first turning point in the academic life of a student.
Chonpenthung Tungoe, Top 19 and Areni Humtsoe Top 49, along with the rest of their friends, have indeed brought the biggest achievement in the history of not only LMS but for their parents, teachers, friends and well wishers.
LMS headmaster, Sujay Dey informed that 20 students occupied 1st division, four students’ secured second division, and six students secured 80 plus percentage.  Also, one of the students scored 94 marks in English, where highest mark in English in state level remains 96, “That’s a good Mark,” said Dey.
Son of Khodao Tungoe, of Ryphim village Chonpenthung Tungoe,  and Areni Humtsoe, daughter of Jondamo Humtsoe of Humtso village were, earlier itself confident enough and vouched their school as one of the best school with the best teachers and management and they truly proved that  along with their hard labor. The LMS toppers cheerfully said “A big thanks to the Teachers”.
Established in 1999 and up-graded to high school level in 2009, management, teaching staff and parents deserves to hold their heads high with the percentage the school has achieved. LMS Headmaster, Sujay Dey, who took Headmaster charge in 2007, after serving 15 years in Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Wokha as Maths and Science teacher, joined with a dream to nurture the upcoming schools in Wokha to compete with each other where the then students were in class seven. The 2011 HSLC result for LMS proved to be “A dream come true” for Dey.
Intensive coaching in the month of December and January proved befitting result where 12 students strike distinction in English, six students in Maths, three in science, four students in Social science and five students in computer (IT), Dey disclosed, at the same time he was shocked to see one student being dropped out. He still has a vision that 2011 batch will definitely follow the path of their seniors, saying confidently that the next batch will prove the potential of the School again, he confidently added.
 
HSLC topper 3 begins work with prayer
 
The recent HSLC and HSSLC results have shown many bright students competing for the top percentage, wishing to see their name on the coveted list of toppers. Harsh Kumar Jha of Minister Higher Secondary School Kohima is also one such student whose expectation was higher than the position he secured.
Ranking at number 3 in HSLC, Harsh said his effort made him expect to be at Top 1. However “I am happy for what I got” and thanked his teachers and parents for their immense support and guidance. Harsh sees his parents as God and always begin work with a prayer. Besides books, he said he sees himself excellent in playing carom board.
His father, Sudir Kumar Jha, serving at Government Middle School (Phugi) said he is overjoyed at his son’s achievements and expressed gratitude to the teachers of MHSSC. The proud father thanked the almighty for the blessing showered upon his family.
As the son of a mathematics and science teacher, Harsh, had the privilege of strong science background. “I thank all the teachers and my parents for their proper guidance and also the higher authorities who encouraged me very much, without which, I would not have achieved this,” the topper student says. He wishes to join Kohima Science College and pursue IIT, his career ambition.
