Non- local’s registration drive at Longleng dist

Kohima, May 9 (MExN): The Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) in its executive meeting held on April 27 last, have decided that in compliance with the guidelines issued by the office of the ENSF the non-local registration drive under the jurisdiction of Longleng district shall commence from May 13 to 14 for Longleng district HQ and Tamlu HQ and Buranamsang on May 16 to 17.
The conference president Manlang Phom informed all the non-locals under Longleng district to submit all documentary proof ILP, PRC in photocopy (attested by gazetted officers) along with two recent stamp size photograph.
Caption fees shall be charged as fellows; Rs. 200 for fresh, Rs. 100 for renewal, Rs. 50 for provisional ID card (less than 6 months), Rs. 100 for provisional ID card (more than 6 months but less than 1 year). Rs. 50 for children below the age of 14 years (only registration). Rs. 500 will be charged as fine (excluding fees) for those who fail to register/renewed during the given duration without any valid reason.
The PSC also solicits the cooperation of the district administration, police establishment, tribal councils and the general public during the registration process.

DNSU Presidential Council Meeting on May 11

Dimapur, May 9 (MExN):
The office of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has convened its Presidential Council Meeting on May 11, 2011 at 11:00 am, at its Union Office. A press note issued by Lanusubo Imchen, DNSU secretary information & publicity has stated that various agenda(s) pertaining to the welfare and activities of the Union will be deliberated, for which it had informed all its Constituent Units to attend the said meeting positively.

GEO takes up scrutiny of Register of voters

Mokokchung, May 9 (DIPR):
In compliance with Election Commission instruction, General Election Observer to 26-Aonglenden Bye-election, Nandadulal Bhakat had taken up scrutiny of Form 17A (Register of voters) and other related documents with election agents of contesting candidates at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in presence of Mokokchung D.C & R.O, Lithrongla G. Chishi on May 8.
Nandadulal thanked the Returning Officer, Lithrongla G. Chishi and her officials on election duty for leaving no stone unturned for conduct of polling smoothly. He also thanked the police for providing adequate security arrangements during the polling. Disclosing that there was no report of incident, he expressed gratitude to all political parties for abiding by directives and instructions of Election Commission.
Describing polling as peaceful, Lithrongla said there were some elements who tried to create problem during polling in one polling station but they were made frustrated due to prompt action carried out by District Administration and the police force.
