Mokokchung, February 17 (MExN): The Longkhum Lanur Telongjem (LLT) has temporarily suspended the indefinite blockade on all roadways under Longkhum Village jurisdiction with effect from 6:00am of February 18. This was informed in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, from president of LLT, Lolen Jamir, and secretary, Toshi Pongen. The suspension came following requests made to the body by DC, Mokokchung, Commissioner of Nagaland, Kohima, the Ao Senden, Ao Kaketshir Mongdang and Watsu Mongdang. The blockade has been temporarily suspended, stated the LLT, “although the Government of Nagaland, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur; Dimapur District & Session Judge; Superintendent of police, Dimapur have not fulfilled even a point of our humble demands.” While reiterating their demands submitted on February 14, the LLT stated that in the event of “failure on the part of the above mentioned authorities to give true and speedy justice to the murdered victim at the earliest, the LLT will again resort to our own course of action that we deem fit and proper after the lapse of a reasonable period of time, and we shall not be responsible for any untoward incident that shall arise out of our action.”
