Longleng, January 16 (MExN): In Longleng, the COVID-19 vaccination was formally launched by the Deputy Commissioner, M Shayung Phom in the presence of government officers, NGOs and civil societies at District Hospital on January 16.
According to a DIPR report, the DC Longleng lamented that rumors and fake news in the social media are very strong and have created lots of fear and apprehension about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
“We have waited keenly (for the vaccine) when the outbreak of COVID-19 was at its peak,” he said while seeking cooperation and support of all concern to change the mind-set of the people by disseminating the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
Short speech was delivered by Superintendent of Police, Longleng Yanithung Ezung and the keynote address was pronounced by Chief Medical Officer, Longleng Dr Obangjungla.
Welcome address was proposed by Dr Lhouvizotuo Belho, Medical Superintendent DH and dedication prayer was done by the Secretary PBCA. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Imnameren Phom.
