Longleng, October 6 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Longleng, M Shayung Phom has clarified that the oxygen plant, which was supposed to be setup at the District Hospital, could not be done due to lack of adequate space and accordingly it was shifted to the Yachem Community Health Centre (CHC)
The DC, according to a DIPR report, gave the clarification during the monthly Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting held on October 6.
Apprising the members regarding the inauguration of the oxygen plant at Yachem CHC, Shayung further maintained that as the inauguration of the oxygen plant was a time bound arrangement by the government, it was shifted to nearest hospital from the district hospital as suggested by the Health & Family Welfare department, the report said.
The Chief Medical Officer, Longleng Dr Obangjungla also informed that the oxygen plant could not be assembled as expected before inauguration due to transportation problem while Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Yachem, Pichano Kikon updated the members on various arrangements for inauguration the plant, it added.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Longleng and President of Officers’ Club Longleng (OCL), D Robin highlighted on the status of the Club, Longleng and apprised the members that the club failed to organised programs as expected due to lockdown.
The ADC, however, informed several activities are scheduled in the coming days, including the forthcoming underage inter-state badminton tournament, with Longleng as the host.
The Inter-departmental Badminton Tournament Longleng will be organised by the OCL within the last part of November to first week of December 2021, he added.
Robin further appealed all the officers and department to actively participate in the tournament and informed the new members to register their names and submit registration fees along with annual membership to the Treasurer.
He also urged the club members to submit their annual membership. Meanwhile, SDPO Longleng & Treasurer, OCL, Impung Chang also highlighted the activities done by the club despite pandemic lockdown.
At the meeting, the board also recommended for change of nomenclature of GPS (C) Orangkong to GPS Hamlikong after briefing on the matter by the SDEO, Longleng citing that NOC and clearance were produced by the VEC Orangkong village.
Assistant Programme Coordinator (RD) Longleng, Tongpang presented the activities of the Rural Development Department (RD), Longleng and also apprised the members that the National Level Monitoring (NLM) team will be visiting Longleng on October 9 and requested the line departments to be in the station.
The departmental activities for next DPDB will be presented by Power Department in the next meeting, the report added.
