Longleng, September 6 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of September was held under the chairmanship of the DC, John Tsulise Sangtam on September 6 at DC’s conference hall, Longleng.
In his address, a DIPR report stated that the DC informed the members that it will be his last DPDB meeting in the district as he was transferred out from the district. He thanked the members and officers for extending their cooperation and support to him and for enabling to complete three elections during his tenure as DC Longleng. He exhorted the members to continue the good team work and cater to the needs of the people in the days to come.
After reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board recommended the day’s agendas and forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action. On the basis of the DPR submitted by the SDO (Power) Longleng, the board recommended for electrification in the new official site. The board recommended for registration of Community Care & Empowering Society, Longleng and construction of Retaining wall at Yonglok Police Station.
In connection with proposal submitted by the Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) for establishment of SDEO office at Tamlu, upgradation of EAC Yongnyah to SDO (Civil), establishment of RD Block and CDPO at Yongnyah and upgradation of GHS Tamlu to Secondary level the board after lengthy deliberation decided to constitute a sub-committee headed by the ADC Longleng as the Convenor, the EAC Yongnyah and the district HoDs of the concerned department as its members. The committee will submit its report within three months. Regarding upgradation of GHS Tamlu to GHSS, the board directed the DEO Longleng to submit feasibility report in the next DPDB meeting.
The Chairman informed the members about the visit of Multi-Disciplinary Committee (MDC) from the GoI to the districts of Eastern Nagaland. He informed that the central team will visit Tamlu on September 10.
Therefore, he directed all district HoDs to be prepared with their respective departmental activities, keep update in the official whatsapp group and be present on that day. It was decided that the ADC shall monitor and supervise the Government officers and agencies while the PPC shall inform and supervise the NGOs and the village functionaries for the central visit.
The DC also apprised the board to pursue the task of organizing an Official Club of Longleng and entrusted the new ADC Longleng to be the new Convenor of the sub-committee already constituted and to submit the report in the DPDB meeting for necessary action.
