Longleng: Girl students participate in science exhibition

Longleng, February 28 (MExN): To mark the National Science Day in Longleng, a total of 25 girl student took part in the inter-school science exhibition competition and presented models on sewage treatment plant, soil erosion, assembling and working of robotic, wind turbine, kaleidoscope, etc.

The competition was held in view of National Science Day on the theme ‘integrated approach in science and technology for sustainable future’ at VDB Hall Longleng on February 28.  It was organised by the District Administration & Mahila Shakti Kendra Longleng commemorating the remarkable work of Indian physicist CV Raman in the field of light scattering.

Christian High School came first followed by Phom Lempong School and Shamakok Mission School in the second and third position respectively. A DIPR report stated that the winners were awarded with certificate and cash prize.  

Welcome address was delivered by Phungla Phom,WWO MSK Longleng. She gave a brief note on the significance of the celebration. The panel of judges for the competition was Dr Lima Phom, Chief Functionary Yingle Mission Society Longleng, R Radhakhrishnan Graduate teacher, GHSS Longleng and Dr Manan Phom MO PHC Yongnyah Longleng.

The programme was attended by Phom Students Conference executives, teachers, and students from all the blocks.
