Cardamom farmers in Longwa village receives relief from District Disaster Management Authority, Mon on November 26.
Mon, November 27 (MExN): The cardamom farmers in Longwa village under Mon district are reportedly feeling the heat of climate change as their “plantation miserably failed” this year.
According to a press statement received here, the cardamom plantation was the only source of income for the farmers.
“Taking note of the many problems faced by the poor farmers, a CFR volunteer from the village, Y Palei Konyak reported the same to the District Disaster Management Authority, Mon,” the statement said.
“Without delay, the DDMA Mon on November 26 distributed 56 bags of rice to 56 farmers,” it added.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Palei expressed gratitude to DDMA and District Administration Mon and said that the cardamom farmers in particular and the people of Longwa village in general appreciate the generous act of the DDMA Mon.
