Lotha Football Championship begins

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 28 (MExN): The 10th edition of LFC organized by Wokha District Football Championship begins today at the local ground, Wokha, with ADC, Wokha K Mhathung Tsanglao as the special guest.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the tournament, Tsanglao lauded the organizers for hosting such event and creating platform for the young sports persons. He also called upon the players not to consider this event just as a recreation but to take up as a profession with dedication and sincerity because it can provide lot of opportunity for one to excel in life.

Tsanglao while encouraging the youngster to take up sports as a career choice because it can create many avenues in one’s to prosper in life, further he urged the players to maintain sense of fair play and exhibit their talents in the true spirit of the game.

The function was blessed with a prayer by Rev. Khonpemo P Kikon, Assistant Pastor WTBC, while welcome address was delivered by Zubenthung.

In the first match of the tournament last year runners-up Vungoju Football club defeated Clique FC Titaben-B by 3-0. Yiben scored the first goal of the tournament tin the 9th minute of the game, Dhale and Hatsabemo also contributed a goal each for Vungoju FC.
