Lotha Hoho forbids members from attending Naga Hoho conclave

DIMAPUR, AUGUST (MExN): The Lotha Hoho (LH) issued a diktat today forbidding its members from attending a conclave of the Naga Hoho scheduled on August 28 at the Agri Expo, Dimapur.

It added that any Lotha attending will be deemed as doing so “with vested interest and the Lotha Hoho will not be responsible for any consequence.”

The diktat was issued through a press release issued by LH Chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung and General Secretary S Aben Ngullie.  The release further said that the Lotha Public Organisation (LPO) led by its Chairman Sulanthung Lotha attending the Naga Hoho conclave will “ in no way represent the Lotha tribe” as according to the LH, “Sulanthung had already been disassociated from the Lotha Hoho” for alleged “anti-Lotha activities.”

It maintained that the LH was the first Naga organisation to disassociate from the Naga Hoho in 2008, which was further reaffirmed on September 6, 2016.

Terming the LPO as a “self-styled organization,” it said that the LPO was formed in the aftermath of the rejection of Sulanthung and R Ezong’s bid to the post of LH Chairman.

Citing “existing” rules for selection of LH office bearers, it said, “All posts of Lotha Hoho office bearers are by Nomination and not by election and hence Filing of Nomination was against the Guidelines and hence both Nominations were rejected by the Search Committee.”

“The status of the LPO being as such the Lotha Hoho disowns the Press statement of the LPO,” it said.
