Dimapur, Sept 25 (MExN): The Land Owners Union DHEP has refuted allegations against its President of issuance of illegal contract and supply works. The union termed the allegations made by former union members Wochamo Ngullie and Bichamo Yanthan as baseless and devoid of any truth. “The writers are ignoring the reality that the Doyang project is already in its stage of revenue and power generation after investing about Rs 700 to Rs 800 crores. Hence at this juncture, the question of issuing supply or contract works does not arise” stated a refutation issued by the union through its General Secretary T Hayithung Odyuo. It also clarified that LOU is not the issuing authority in such matters and the union noted that the allegations against union’s President O Mozamo Ngullie and Deputy General Manager NK Mao was leveled with ill-motives.
The union, meanwhile, has informed that the LOU/DHEP would use only the updated Land Owner Certificates for all official purposes of the union. The decision is being taken based on the numerous allegations that the certificates were misused in many ways in past, it informed. “Therefore the union office with the objective to maintain clean and systematic records of the land owners, it was decided that all the certificates issued prior to 28 June, 2006 will be renewed. All members concerned are requested to kindly contact the President and General Secretary of the union at DHEP for renewals which has started since the month of August 2006” it informed while calling for cooperation in taking up welfare initiatives for the affected people.
