The 1st open basketball championship in memory of Lt. Neiphrülie Linyü got underway here at the Kohima Local Ground under the aegis of Quakers Group, Kohima with the theme “Brotherhood through sports.” Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) general secretary John Kath graced the inaugural function as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the championship. Earlier, keynote address was given by Victor Yhome, president KQG while Tseituo Mere administered oath to the participating teams. Altogether, 18 teams are vying for the coveted championship.
