Luthur Village Guard celebrates golden jubilee

Kiphire, November 29 (MExN): The Luthur Village Guard (VG) celebrated golden jubilee at Luthur village with Deputy Commandant, VG Kiphire, E Wamei Konyak as special guest on November 28. 

Luthur village is situated under Pungro sub-division in Kiphire district. 

Speaking on the theme “Honoring the selfless past”, the special guest encouraged the Village Guard personnel to render their valuable services towards the cause of the peoples. Wamei saluted the Village Guards for their act of bravery, courage, loyalty and sacrifices made to call of their duty.  He also called upon them to maintain peace and security in order to bring developmental activities in the region.

The special guest also unveiled the jubilee monolith.

Others who spoke at the function were Shellumthong, former Vice President YTC, S Kiusumew Yimchungru president PFPSD, T Shilimthong Executive Chairman YTC, JB Shahoto president PSGU, K Asetsu, Assistant Commandant Pungro and Y Kiuso VCC Luthur village.

Welcome address was delivered by Y Yansomong, planning chairman while invocation was pronounced by Ketsumong, pastor LBC. H Hopung, History convener released the jubilee souvenir.

Word of gratitude was proposed by H Tushipa, post commander, benediction was prayed by Tsusola, asst women pastor LBC. Special song was presented by Luthur VG and Luthur Women Society Pungro town. The programme was presided over by M Shokum and K Tsukhumla. Cultural dance was also performed by the women society Luthur village I/c Tsusola.
