Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): A mango plantation project started by DRDA Peren in Lamhai Dungki village has paid rich dividend with some family earning more than 2 lakh this year from selling the product. According to a press note, the total harvest during 2016 was nearly 40 tons (40,000 KG) sold at wholesale rate Rs. 25 per kg. The Mango plantation project, which is purely organic, was taken up by DRDA Peren in the year 2009 in the village during the then Project Director (MGNREGA) Kelei Zeliang. The plantation is located at a compact area covering more than 200 Acres and supervised by local committee set up by the mango grower headed by a convener, secretary and three executive members representing one from each Khel in the village, it said.
