KOHIMA, JANUARY 18 (MExN): The Mao Hoho Nagaland has acknowledged the sacrifice of Late L. Manio Chachei who was conferred the National Bravery Award, 2014 posthumously. Chachei, in trying to save two of his friends from drowning at Eagles Fall in Shillong on October 11, 2012, himself drowned. He was 17 years of age, son of Besü Lohe Chachei, Asst. Commandant BSF, 111 battalion, Satakha and resident of Model village, 5th mile Dimapur. Mao Hoho Nagaland president, A. Daili, while acknowledging Chachei’s sacrifice in a press release, stated that the award conferred on the Late Chachei is “befitting a hero who had sacrificed his precious life for others. May the family of Late L. Manio Chachei find strength and be comforted in God and in the great legacy left behind by him.”
