Marketing shed at Impur Lemjem renovated

Impur, July 26 (MExN): Rongseninla Aier, Additional Director of Agriculture, Kohima inaugurated the renovated marketing shed at Impur Lemjem, at NH -2 on July 26 in the presence of the Village Council members of Sungratsu and Yemchalu, officers from the Directorate of Agriculture, District Agriculture Office, Mokokchung, State Agriculture Research Station, Yisemyong, land owners and women vendors.   Realising the need to provide a better marketing infrastructure for the women vendors to sell the agricultural products of the farmers in the surrounding area, the Department of Agriculture took up the renovation of the existing marketing shed by constructing concrete floor, sales counter, storage facilities and toilet with water storage and pipe connection.  

Speaking at the occasion, the Addl. Director emphasised on the need for growing sufficient food by the farmers and also on the importance of proper pricing, display, packing of the products and to have a pleasant and courteous personality to become successful in marketing.   The programme was chaired by Dr Lanunochetla, SMS (Jr); Takachiba, Tatar, Village Council Sungratsu, Imtimar Imchen, Chairman, Yemchalu Village Council Chairman, Y. Temjen Walling on behalf of the land owners and Arenla on behalf of the women vendors spoke at the occasion.   The dedicatory prayer was delivered by the Kilen Longchar, Pastor, Sungratsu Baptist Church and vote of thanks by I. Lipokonen Jamir, Assistant Agronomist.
