MCCI cautions anti-social elements

Culprit tenders unconditional apology for assaulting MCCI member

Mokokchung, February 11 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) on Thursday cautioned that any anti-social element hampering the peaceful environment would be viewed seriously.

According to a press release from the MCCI, one of its members was harassed and assaulted at his business establishment on February 10 by a miscreant.

With the intervention of the MCCI, the matter was brought to a conclusion after the culprit admitted his misdemeanor and tendered an unconditional apology on February 11.

“The culprit also signed a statement of promise, appended by a witness, that he shall not indulge in such activities in the future and that he will be held solely responsible should any untoward incident happen to the victim consequent to the above mentioned incident that happened on February 10,” the MCCI informed.

Stating that Mokokchung is perhaps one of the most peaceful towns in Nagaland'', the MCCI said that it would not tolerate its innocent members being ‘victimized’.

Further, all members of MCCI have been directed to extend all-out cooperation to the authorities in keeping the town clean. Traders have also been informed not to keep their garbage for disposal on Saturday evenings as MMC sanitation workers remain off duty on Sundays.
