MOKOKCHUNG, AUGUST 16 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) has expressed “extreme displeasure” with the Department of Power, Government of Nagaland for “their utter incompetence in performing their duty in the service of the people.”
A press note from the MCCI informed that since the 5MVA power transformer broke down at Mokokchung Power House on July 15, 2016, for the second time in less than a year’s time, the people of Mokokchung have been left reeling under acute power crisis. “The people in general are being subjected to unprecedented inconveniences but the worst affected are the members of the business community. There is no regular power supply in Mokokchung town and adjacent areas for a whole month now and the business community are accruing losses worth crores of rupees already,” the MCCI said.
It hoped that the department would comply with the 15-day ultimatum served by the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town on August 8. It further cautioned that the department “shall be held responsible for any untoward situation that may crop up thence.”
