MCC’s 9th annual fresher’s day held

Kohima, July 22 (MExN): The Model Christian College, Kohima observed its 9th annual Fresher’s Day on July 16 last with Elias T. Lotha, commissioner transport as the guest of honour.  

Stressing upon the importance of goal setting, he encouraged the fresher’s to set proper goals and believe in one’s own potentialities and capabilities.  

Emphasizing on the need of goals, he said that goals can compel to move forward and that goals are an external expression of inner desires, adding that goals helps us in believing in ourselves, our potentialities and capabilities.  

He said goals also holds us accountable for our failures and by introspection and self reflection, it brings more wisdom, helps in equipping ourselves with the right knowledge and to accept and counter the challenges that comes along the way. 

He further urged the students not only to learn from books but from each other. Welcoming the fresher’s, MCC principal Luke Rymbai also encouraged the students to pursue for academic and moral excellence. Akhriezo Shuya spoke on behalf of freshers.  

The gathering was also enthralled with special number by Vizunu Noswe, B.Sc 3rd semester. Blessing and prayers for the fresher’s was pronounced by S.P Francis, MCC managing director. The programme was chaired by Holenla Quinker.
