Kiphire, January 21 (MExN): Kiphire District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted for the forthcoming 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election comprising of the following: Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS, DC & DEO – Chairman; Meyazungba Jamir, SDO(C) & ARO – Member; Sangpangchang Longkumer, EAC Longmatra – Member; Deepak Kumar, DIO Kiphire – Member; Tsipise Antony, Journalist – Member; and N. Yapan Konyak, DPRO Kiphire – Member Secretary. The MCMC will scrutinize and verify all advertisements by political parties, candidates or their supporters. Besides discharging the functions of certification of advertisements and checking of paid news, it will also assist in enforcement of media related regulations under the Representation of People Act as per the existing guidelines.
