Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has called for the shutdown of all medicine shops in the State on Friday, September 28, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. This will be in support of the bandh called by their parent organization, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) against the central government decision of e-marketing/online sale of medicines by a few entities. “To facilitate emergency requirements, we will advise one or two pharmacies in each district headquarters to function normally on the day of the bandh,” stated a press release from NMDA General Secretary, Ashok Kr. Singhal. As per directives of the AIOCD, the NMDA has advised all presidents and secretaries of NMDA district units to observe the bandh. The NMDA has also expressed regret for the inconvenience that may be caused to the public due to the bandh.
