Staffs urged to build strong community institutions, be goal oriented
Wokha, December 16 (MExN): With an objective to discuss on status and challenges of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in Wokha district, Mission Director along with Chief Operating Officer (Programs) visited Wokha on December 12 and convened a meeting at DRDA Project Director’s office.
Additional Secretary RD and Mission Director Athel O Lotha in the meeting acknowledged the performance of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) in various levels under Wokha district despite the hurdles and challenges, informed a press release received here. Expressing her vision on the Mission, she motivated the staffs to give more effort in building strong community institutions and enhance their livelihoods to achieve the Mission goals.
Rollan M Lotha, the COO (Programs) apprised on the vitality of the Resource Block, a platform where other blocks train, learn and nurture the Self Help Groups (SHGs). He exhorted the staffs to work with immense effort and progress beyond Village Level Organization of the Mission. More than being just a staff, he urged to be more goal oriented and give a handholding support to the communities to achieve a sustainable self managed institutions.
Rollan further stated that all the Blocks at district level should emphasize on achieving a rigid federation where the community manage and improve their livelihoods. Goal visioning, leadership and team building should be prioritized, he maintained.
Block Program Managers of Wokha, Chukitong, Sanis, and Changpang blocks presented brief reports related to the progress of the mission in each block.
The meeting, chaired by DRDA Project Director Thungdeno Mozhui, was attended by mission staffs and BDOs of Sanis and Changpang blocks.
