Meghalaya Budget session rescheduled

The sitting of the budget session of the Meghalaya Assembly has been reduced by one day.

 

This was approved by the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly chaired by Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh on Tuesday.

 

Instead of ten days, the session will now have only nine working days.

 

Earlier, the BAC has decided that the session will be held for ten days from March 13 to 26.

 

However, the BAC in its meeting held on Tuesday, decided to reschedule the budget session from March 13 to 25.

 

The election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Meghalaya will be held on March 26, as the term of the present Rajya Sabha member, Wansuk Syiem will expire on April 12.

 

The voting is from 9 am to 4 pm, and counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 pm.
