Meghalaya registers more COVID-19 cases

Meghalaya recorded three fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday after returnees from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu tested positive for the disease which now takes the total positive cases in the State to 36.


While one positive case was reported in the morning, another two cases were reported in the evening.


"Two more residents who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID-19. Both of them are under quarantine in East Khasi Hills district", read Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma’s post on Twitter on Sunday.


  Earlier during the day, a returnee from Maharashtra also tested positive.  


He also informed that, till date, there have been 36 total positive cases of COVID-19 in the State, of which 22 are active cases. 13 people have recovered so far and one person has succumbed to the virus.
