Mengujuma Annual Sports Meet underway

Kohima, December 27 (MExN): Retired Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Kevisekho Kruse said the state needs a stable government to deliver goods to the people.   Speaking during the Mengujuma Local Ground inauguration cum-Annual Sports Meet, 2017, Kruse said for development and progress of the state, people need a stable government which can deliver good governance. But he regretted that due to instability of the state Government development has taken a backstage. He said progress can come only when there is a stable government with good governance.   But he said in the prevalent situation people are facing instability and bad governance and that development has eluded them.   Kruse further said only good government can provide better avenues for the educated unemployed youths. But added that due to flux of the state Government Naga youths have been left unattended in all aspects adding that there are many avenues for youths but Government has failed to perform its bounden duty.   As elections are approaching the retired Chief Engineer asked people to think twice before taking decision so that right people are elected for stability and good governance so that people could enjoy the fruits of development.   Kruse insists people to vote for government which can provide equal opportunity and fruits of development to all sections of people. He said the current trend prevailing in the state is only for few and majority of people have been left to their own fate. He said people wanted government which can understand them.   He said Western Angami Assembly Constituency has also not been enjoying the development for many years and for which people would have to think twice before casting their votes adding that development has not taken in the constituency as expected by the people.   Earlier Kruse also inaugurated the newly constructed public ground. He said development can take in faster pace only when people are united. He added that only through unity effort society can move ahead. He expressed hope that with the inauguration of new ground village could produce good sportsmen and women.   The four day sports meet will conclude on December 30.   This year, for Wrestling, Asa Seyie is sponsoring Rs. 10000 as First Prize.   Neikuolie Seyie was the Guest of Honour in today’s inaugural programme. Welcome address was delivered by Ketulhoukho Kuotso Advisor, Menguzuma Youth Organisation, Special Number by Zevi B, Short Speech by Thepfusato Sechu, Chairman, Village Council, invocation prayer by Kekuose Seyie, Pastor, A G Church, Chairman of the Programme was Pelesavi Rurhie, VDB Secretary and Administration of Oath by Peteneizo Sechu, Games and Sports Secretary.
