Menuosetuo Yiese is 48th ASA Wrestling Champion

21 year old Menuosetuo Yiese today emerged as the champion of the 48th Angami Sports Association (ASA) Were Meet held here at Kohima Local Ground.
Son of Late Khrielatuo Yiese from Kohima village and representing Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Menuosetuo Yiese who stands at 6 feet and weighing 134 kg will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
21 year old Kezhaseluo-o Pienyu of Kohima village and representing NASA stood second position. Son of Late Thepfusanyu Pienyu, Kezhaseluo-o who stands at 5’11 and weighing 122 kg will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.
24 years Seyiekhrietuo Yiese also representing NASA stood third position. Son of Late Khrielatuo Yiese of Kohima village, Seyiekhrietuo, weighing 107 kg and standing 5’9 will receive Rs. 80,000.
29 years Kekhriezo Nagi, son of Late Videtuolie Nagi stood 4th position. Representing Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO), Nagi who stands 5’7 and weighing 86 kg, will receive Rs. 50,000.
The losing quarter finalists include Mezevil Kiso of Southern Angami Sports Association, Kevisier Dzuvichu of NASA, Keneiselie Khawakhrie of WAYO and Abao Virie of Chakhroma Sports Association. They will be awarded Rs. 5000 each.
Earlier, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs graced the inaugural function as the special guest.
The function was chaired by ASA general Secretary Vilekho Bio while ASA President Viliehu Nguzhu delivered thse presidential address.
ASA Wrestling Secretary, Khrielakuolie Suohu administered oath to the wrestlers. Meanwhile, the junior category event will take place on February 13 from 9:30am onwards.
Er. Kevisekho Kruse, Chief Engineer, PHED (Retd.) Govt. of Nagaland will grace the valedictory function as guest of honour.
