Menuosetuo Yiese is NASA Wrestling Champ

Menuosetuo Yiese today emerged with the champion’s title of the 59th Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Wrestling Meet 2018 held here at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).  

19-year old Menuosetuo Yiese from Kohima village, who stands 6 foot tall and weighs 144 kg, pocketed cash prize of Rs. 80,000.  

30-year old Kekhriengulie Whuorie also from Kohima village claimed second and pocketed cash prize of Rs. 50,000.  

Kezhaseluo-o Pienyii and Seyiekhrietuo Yiese, both from Kohima village bagged third and fourth positions and were awarded Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.  

NASA- A (Kohima village) with 96 and half points claimed the group champion’s title.  

Meanwhile, NASA has selected 18 wrestlers to represent NASA at the forthcoming Angami wrestling meet 2018. They are: Menuosetuo Yiese, Kekhriengulie Whuorie, Kezhaseluo-o Pienyii, Seyiekhrietuo Yiese, Khrievotuo Sekhose, Vizakietuo Suohu, Vizose-u Metha, Seyieteiso Rutsa, Kevitsii Rutsa, Kezhavizo Thevo, Khrietsonyii Whuorie, Thepfiikhotuo Medom, Kikruvilie Zumu, Keneikhrielie Yhome, Thepfuchiituo Khrodi, Khriesetuo Sogotsu, Vikeduolie Lhousi and Petekhrietuo Pienyii.

  Earlier, Pelesielie Khezhie, Chairman North East Taekwondo Association and President Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union, and Atuo Mezhiir Sekhose, President Nagaland Football Association and State Chief Commissioner Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides, graced the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.  

NASA President Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie delivered welcome address while NASA Wrestling Secretary Zhakholie Metha administered oath to the 56 wrestlers from four Groups under NASA.  

The meet was conducted by Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board with Kezhalelie Keretsii as chief judge.
