Message for Peace among the Nagas

As our family mourned thirty days from 19th January to 19th February 2012, for the untimely death of our beloved Son V.Ghukato Assumi, who was assassinated on 19th January 2012, by his old comrades, I could not release the statement of how we had declared our commitment before men and before God, during the funeral service that, our family have forgiven “The sins-of-Killing” by those killers and prayed to God that, if the killers come to God for forgiveness “May God forgive them”, as they prayed. The death of our son Late. V.Ghukato Assumi has left one widow and four minor child behind him. Let this be the last. “Naga-Killing-Naga” and “Sumi-Killing Sumi”and there should not increase the number of widows and minor child among the Nagas is our prayer.

Our family had taken such an extreme step, because, we belong to NGO family and it felt that “Forgiveness must start from the family of NGOs”, because we (NGO family) preached peace, unity and forgiveness through Reconciliation.

Since I had preached for “Unity of Nagas first than solution”, for little more than ten years since 2001, till date, I once again appeal to my fellow Naga National Workers to revise your old stand and agree to one another for “Unity of Naga National Workers” and initiate the Naga Political Solution jointly without the leadership crises this is the only means of our Naga Political solution through the “Forgive one another sin” and “Forget all the past mistakes”. My father and I stand on this principle that caused us firm in forgiveness.

Lastly, I give my clarification that, former tribal presidents are all retired personalities and so never expect those elders to join the underground factions and organization, but expect their opinions, advises and Co-operation in the process of Naga Unity for the Naga Political solution, which may be at the door step.

KUKNALIM

I.Vitokhe Assumi
Former Sumi Hoho President
