Medziphema, August 28 (MExN): An awareness programme with the theme ‘Minimising plastic pollution for cleaner environment’ organised by Eco-Club & SU: SASRD in collaboration with Atsi & Co. was held at NU SASRD Medziphema Campus with DC Dimapur Kevin Zehol as the guest of honour on August 27.
A DIPR report stated that the guest of honour, in his short speech, highlighted the triggering threat of plastic pollution and also gave the importance of purpose of awareness of minimizing plastic pollution. He said slogans itself will not help and save our environment but it is our duty as a responsible human to protect our environment and resources for our future generations.
Atsi Jamir event coordinator NITCA, highlighted on the awareness programme and the aims to bring a practical one and initiative to the campus by making it a plastic free zone.
The programme was chaired by Atsungpong Longchar General Secretary, SU: SASRD. Invocation by Moangsenla Pongen. Welcome address was delivered by Professor AK Makar Dean, NU: SASRD. A short skit on environment pollution was presented by Eco-Club SASRD and vote of thanks was pronounced by Wonchibeni N. Odyuo President, Eco-Club: SASRD.
