Kohima, April 8 (MExN): Minister for Roads & Bridges Y Vikheho Swu has expressed sadness at the demise of Late Grinder Muivah in New Delhi on April 6. “I express my grief for the huge loss; at the same time I want to convey that I am very privileged to have known him over the years,” stated the Minister in a condolence message addressed to Grinder’s wife, Sonia Muivah.
Vikheho recollected that he came to know Late Grinder Muivah during the Naga Week in 1993 while the former was the President of Naga Students' Federation (NSF). Grinder was a successful entrepreneur then. Over the years, the Minister said, the two grew in contact with each other. The last meeting he had with him was on April 4 in Delhi and they discussed at length about various issues confronting the Naga society, according to the message.
“He has been instrumental in representing the Nagas. Appointed as "courier" by Indian government for Indo-Naga peace talk in 1995 and as "go between" by the NSCN till date, he has made immense contribution to the ongoing peace talk.”
The Minister further thanked him for his friendship, his contributions, his devotion and services rendered to the Naga Nation. He prayed that the Lord provide peace and comfort to his family at this hour of grief and “may the memory of his life and times enrich the lives of all who had the privilege to be associated with him.”
