Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): Dimapur Police have arrested one person identified as Holotoka Yepthomi (25) for rape of a minor in Medziphema. An FIR was filed by the victim herself stating that she was sexually assaulted on different occasions, informed a press release from Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur. Accordingly, a case has been registered at Women PS for further investigation.
Ganja seized
Meanwhile, Dimapur Police seized ganja in three separate incidents. On October 18 around 8:30 pm, Dimapur Police Special Operation Team (SOT) seized 210 kg of suspected ganja from one vehicle (Maruti Gypsy) bearing registration number NL02C9625 at 6th Mile Bazaar area. The driver was arrested and a case registered at DPR PS for further investigation, the release said.
Further on October 19, Dimapur Police SOT recovered around 160 kg of suspected ganja from one Gypsy (NL10-4529) marked as police at Singrijan area, Dimapur. The driver of the vehicle and occupants fled under the cover of darkness while the vehicle was being intercepted, it was informed. In this connection, a case has been registered vide DPR PS and further investigation is on.
Around 10:45 pm the same day, Dimapur Police SOT intercepted one Gypsy (NL03- 0542) and recovered 13 packets of ganja weighing about 130 kg. The press release informed that the driver identified as Kedungupe Rhakho (36) was arrested and a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
Stolen bike recovered
Dimapur Police Mobile Unit-92 apprehended one Medohulie Keyho on October 19 around 8:00 pm with a stolen motorbike Bajaj Pulsar (B/R-U/R C/NO MD2JDJD22JCA92791 E/NO- JEGBTA93798) from Darogapathar area. In this connection, a case has been registered vide East PS and investigation is on, the release said.
Two apprehended for extortion
Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team (AET) Zone-1 apprehended two persons – Tekendro Singh and Herato Zhimo – for allegedly collecting illegal taxes from businessmen at Sunday Market Netaji colony, Dimapur “without any valid slip/challan” on October 22 around 8:15 am. The AET also seized cash amount of Rs.1650/- from their possession. In this connection a case has been registered vide East PS and further investigation is on.
