‘Mission Doing Right – Clean Election’

CIC resolves to enforce one person one vote

Zunheboto, September 22 (MExN): The Core Implementation Committee (CIC) of ‘Mission Doing Right – Clean Election’, an initiative of Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK), today reaffirmed the April 12, 2017 Public Rally Resolutions. This was done at the first general meeting of the CIC with all the village and range CIC members at Town Hall, Zunheboto on September 22.  

In addition to the ‘11 point resolutions’ of the Public Rally, the meeting adopted another resolution - “To enforce one person one vote”. Accordingly, the meeting resolved to extend cooperation towards purification of electoral process, stated a press release from Dr. Vihuto Asumi, Co-Convenor, Sumi Akutsu Mqo (Clean Election Campaign).  

The members undertook a pledge to implement the resolutions pertaining to Mission Doing Right – Clean Election, the release added. The meeting also placed on record its appreciation of the Xuivi Village Council regarding Clean Election. It sincerely appealed to all the village councils to follow suit.  

It was also resolved that the CIC (apex) will have a meeting with all the range level and village level CICs in their respective headquarters, for which, the Range Level CICs have been requested to organize the meeting on October 13 or 14 and intimate the apex CIC.  

The meeting was chaired by Kitoho Rotokha and Abokali Jimomi. Speeches were delivered by Ninoto Awomi, President of SKK, Hekhushe Shikhu, President of Sumi Hoho, Ghovito Jimomi, President of Sumi Kukami Hoho, Khegholi Chophy, President of Sumi Totimi Hoho, Rev. Kughato Chophy, Pastor of Satakha Town Sumi Baptist Church, Dr. Shitovi Yepthomi, Academic Dean of Anderson Theological College, Aizuto and Dr. Vihuto Asumi, Co-Convenor of CIC. Clean Election pledge and prayer were administered by Rev. Hotokhu Jimomi, Executive Secretary, Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu.
