Mizo minister & Parl Secy visits border trade at Dawki

Newmai News Network Aizawl | February 2   Mizoram Commerce & Industries Department Minister H. Rohluna and Parliamentary Secretary Joseph Lalhimpuia on Wednesday visited Dawki-border trade centre of India and Bangladesh at Meghalaya border.   Besides studying the feasibility of using the International border in Mizoram in a more profitable way for trade with other countries, they inspected the plans already made for setting up International Check Post at Dawki.   The Minister of Commerce & Industries Department and the Parliamentary Secretary also carried out inspection of necessary things for setting up of ICP in Tlabung and Kawrpuichhuah.   Lalhmingmawia IRS, Dy. Commissioner, Central Excise, Shillong Division received the Minister and the Parliamentary Secretary and explained to them the system of border trade at Dawki and other important matters.   The Minister and the Parliamentary Secretary went to attend Investors' Summit in Shillong. They were accompanied by Zothankhuma ITS, Commerce & Industries Secretary, J. Hmingthanmawia IAS, Director, Commerce & Industries Department, Jacob Lalawmpuia MCS, DRC, Shillong and R.C. Lalzarmawia, Shillong Group YMA Vice President.
