Piphema, November 17 (MExN): Modern College, Piphema, organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the topic “Step-by-Step Guide on Writing a Research Paper,” under the aegis of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The session was conducted by Dr. Daili Kholia, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education and Convenor of the college's Research and Development Cell.
Dr. Kholia provided insights into the fundamentals of research, focusing on its purpose and significance. She posed key questions to participants, such as the rationale behind "re"-searching a topic and the methodology of approaching research.
Defining research as a quest for knowledge and a process to bridge gaps between the present state of understanding and the ideal, she emphasized that research begins with identifying problems that prompt the critical question, “Why?”
Highlighting the importance of a literature review in academic research, Dr. Kholia explained the framework of a review research paper. She stressed its role in identifying gaps in existing studies and paving the way for future investigations.
The programme was moderated by Ms. Pulovili Lohe, Head of the Department of Education. Dr. Vitsou Yano, Principal of Modern College, welcomed the attendees, while Ms. Vini Achumi, IQAC Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks.
Attended by the entire teaching faculty, the session was described as a productive and enriching experience for all participants.
