Participants during the National Education Day celebrated at Modern College Piphema on November 11.
Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Department of Education, Modern College Piphema celebrated National Education Day on November 11. Vini Achumi, Assistant Professor from Department of B.Voc, gave a brief account on National Education Day.
Cilule Ndang, Assistant Professor from Department of Education, took up the rest of the session and briefed about what NEP is. She mentioned that the NEP 2020 was prepared under the chairmanship of Dr K Kasturirangan.
The committee was constituted in 2017 and was approved by the Union Cabinet on 29 July 2020. The main purpose of NEP 2020 was to design a vision and framework for both school education and Higher education in India.
She mentioned that the old education structure of 10+2 is now modified to 5+3+3+4 as per the new policy covering the age group of 3 to 18.
The UG degree is available for 3 and 4 years duration and has multiple entry and exit options within this period.
She also gave a briefing about ABC known as Academic Bank of Credit an online academic bank to store students' credit. Overall the session was a successful one.
