Modern College organizes national seminar on issue-centric politics

Research scholars with guest faculties after the two-day National Seminar held at Modern College, Kohima on November 27 and 28.

Kohima, November 29 (MExN): Department of Political Science and Research Committee, Modern College, Kohima organized a two-day ICSSR-NERC, Shillong sponsored National Seminar on the topic “Issue-Centric Politics in India” on November 27 and 28.

Altogether 22 research scholars and academicians from various universities and states delved into the issues concerning politics, governance, education, economy, tribals, women, students and also discussed their issues and challenges, problems and prospects.

The objective of the seminar is to highlight the intermingling nature of problems from diverse disciplines and to look into the issues not only with academic austerity but also to foster inclusive discourses which will facilitate comprehensive understanding.

Professor H Srikanth, HoD, Department of Political Science NEHU, Shillong delivered the keynote address. Dr Vitsou Yano, Seminar Convener chaired the inaugural session. Dr Achanger, HoD, Department of Political Science, St Joseph University, Dimapur delivered the valedictory speech.
