Nagaland rapper Moko Koza teamed up with Tripura rapper, Borkung Hrangkhawl (BK) on a new song '8'.
The song was officially released on YouTube on January 30 evening. ‘8’ stands for the eight states in the Northeastern part of India.
In the song, both the rappers talks about the hip-hop scene in the Northeast and music in general and how often the northeast music scene is underrated and often looked upon, deprived of bigger platforms, stated a press release received here.
BK in his verse talks about racism and how the northeast music scene is underrated inspite of the variety of talents the region has. Moko Koza mentions in his verse how he was turned down by one of biggest Hip-Hop talent show in India (MTV Hustle, India) just because he didn't rap in Hindi.
“The song sends out a strong message to the public and how the northeast music scene is evolving and can be represented both at national and international level,” the release added.
