DIMAPUR, APRIL 10 (MExN): The Adhoc fixed pay teachers of Mokokchung district, who have appeared for suitability test and are serving under the Department of School Education today appealed to the state government to look into the matter of regularizing their service by April 2018.
“We sincerely feel that it is high time that the government should have done with the regularization of our service as we have been rendering our service for the past 7 to 8 years with a mere salary. It was made clear in our appointment letter that we have to go through interview board, which we have fulfilled on 20th of May 2017 after a delay of 2 years, as we were already eligible by 2015 for the said interview,” a statement from the teachers said.
They mentioned that despite various representations and an ultimatum, dated November 30, 2017, no measures or steps have been taken up to regularise their service.
“Since all appointments have been made against sanctioned posts, the government should take our hue and cry into consideration as we believe in the principle of ‘Equal Pay for Equal work,’ which is guaranteed to every citizen,” the teachers stated.
They pointed out that “owing to the meager salary, we the Adhoc aggrieved teachers are facing untold difficulties to meet our daily ends.”
The teachers informed this would be their final appeal to the government failing which they would take their own course of action.
