Mokokchung DPDB meeting held

Newly appointed minister and advisors share visions for the district

Mokokchung, April 8 (DIPR): Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of April 2018 was held at the ADC (Planning Cell) Conference Hall on April 7.  

The meeting was chaired by the new DPDB Chairman, Imnatiba who is also Advisor to the Department of Industries & Commerce and NIDC. The meeting was also attended by Minister for Public Works Department, Tongpang Ozukum, and Advisor to the departments of Law & Justice, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts Dr. Longrineken.  

In his speech, the chairman, Imnatiba sought full cooperation from members of the DPDB and called upon the members to contribute innovative ideas on issues pertaining to catering to the needs of the people. He also appealed to the members to attend the meetings regularly and contribute their best.  

Minister Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor Dr. Longrineken also shared their visions and dreams to give an impetus to development trend in the district. They also said that a meeting of all the elected members from Mokokchung district would soon have a meeting to discuss how best they could collectively take up measures and steps to give a new face in the developmental front.  

DC and Vice Chairman, Sachin Jaiswal IAS welcomed the new DPDB Chairman, Imnatiba, Minister, Tongpang Ozukum, and Advisor, Dr Longrineken, to the meeting. Sachin Jaiswal in his speech touched on a number of measures to strengthen such as public services delivery system, implementation of citizens’ charter in all the departments in the district, better coordination among departments in implementation of various welfare schemes and also shared his priority area to help develop and maintain peace in the border areas.  

The meeting once again took up discussions on the urgent need of construction of a ring road for Mokokchung town and operation of all transport buses from the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Khensa. The meeting decided to pursue the matter with concerned departments as these are long standing cry of the people.  

Taking part in the discussions, Minister for PWD, Tongpang Ozukum informed that repairing of pothole in all the district headquarters are being done on war footing. In this regard, the minister called upon all sections to cooperate with the government to complete the work within the stipulated time frame.  

A proposal for construction of approach road to new dumping zone under MMC was also approved and forwarded to the concerned department to take up the construction at the earliest.  

Ao Senden President, Imliyanger Jamir, and Vice President, Chubawati, who attended the meeting actively took part in the discussions and assured their full support to ensure that development takes place without obstruction in the district.
