DIMAPUR, JANUARY 23 (MExN): Mon and Peren continued their winning streaks at the 1st Late G Rio Memorial U-19 (Boy’s) inter district tournament on January 23.
In the first match, Peren defeated Zunheboto by 72 runs. Winning the toss, Peren decided to bat first and scored 156 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 25 overs. Parbez was the highest scorer for Peren with 68 runs followed by Vicky with 30 runs.
For Zunheboto, Hito Assumi, Kito Zhimo, Alopu Aye and Hitoki Assumi took a wicket each.
In the second innings, Zunheboto failed to reach their target as they were bowled out for just 84 runs in 20.5 overs.
Nighato Yeputho scored 23 runs while Abhishek made 21 runs.
Roko Nyekha was the pick of bowlers for Peren with 6 wickets. Om Sangma bagged 2 wickets as well while Ranjen took 1 wicket.
In the second match, Mon defeated Wokha by 28 runs. Electing to bat first, Mon set a target of 154 runs losing 8 wickets in 25 overs. Altab scored 52 runs while Airong Konyak made 26 runs for Mon.
For Wokha, Lichumthung Patton and Eren Ezung took 2 wickets each while a wicket each was bagged by Randanbemo Odyuo and Noyingthung Kikon.
Chasing the target, Wokha fell short as they could muster only 125 runs losing 7 wickets in 25 overs. Mhao Tsanglao for Wokha made 51 runs while Chumrenthung Lotha and Noyingthung Kikokn made 18 and 14 runs respectively.
Shejong Konyak bagged two 2 wickets for Mon with contributions of 1 wicket each for Altab, Airong Konyak and Anyeang Konyak.
