Mon, May 4 (MExN): A combined meeting of the COVID-19 District Task Force and District Task Force for administration of COVID-19 vaccination was held on May 3 at the DC’S conference hall Mon.
The meeting started with a brief summary on the on-going Vaccination process in the district by Dr Shasinle Tep, DIO (UIP&RCH). She mentioned that the vaccination for the 18 years and above will be activated as and when the vaccines arrive in the district. According to a press release received on Tuesday, the meeting also discussed on the execution of the vaccination plan and the challenges faced by each block under the district.
Stating the current situation of COVID-19, Dr Limatula Aier, DSO informed that there are 23 active cases and three deaths till date in the district.
Following the feedbacks, the District Task Force came up with a decision to strengthen the COVID-19 protocols by discussing on the preparation, enforcement and monitoring. In this regard, it was decided to reinforce the ward and village task forces as they were the instrumental in the pandemic management last year. The team also decided that prior permission should be taken from the District Task Force, Mon to hold any kind of gatherings within the district.
The meeting also discussed on the preparedness of COVID hospital, COVID Care Centre, workforce issues, drugs, equipments and protocols for disposing dead body.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Mon Thavaseelan K and was also attended by Chief Medical Officer, Mon Dr Kechongol Sophie. Other members present were Superintendent of Police, Medical Superintendent DH, deputy CMO, ADC, SDO (C), District Surveillance Officer (IDSP), District Immunization Officer, WHO, and other administrative officers.
