Mon Special DPDB rejects proposed LADP schemes

Mon, June 28 (DIPR): The Special District Planning & Development Board meeting to approve Local Area Development Programme (LADP) was held under the chairmanship of Eshak Konyak, Parliamentary Secretary Art & Culture and Chairman DPDB, Mon on June 28 at DC’s conference hall.  

Giving the welcome address, ADC Mon, Shanavas C. IAS informed the members about the importance of the special DPDB meeting and invited the ADC Planning to read out the proposed schemes and projects prepared by the respective elected representatives of the district under LADP 2017-18. The board recommended the schemes submitted under LADP 2017-18.  

However, the board turned down the schemes which crossed above Rupees 20 lakh for re-submission as per the LADP guidelines. The Chairman DPDB informed that schemes under common pool are yet to be prepared and therefore the board recommended the schemes under common pool only in principle.  

Ambiguity in food security under supply department

The Chairman DPDB also appraised the house about the ambiguity in the food security under supply department and urged the district administration and the NGOs to check and inquire through the respective EACs, DBs and representatives of the NGOs in the grass root level whether Food Security is properly implemented in the district.  

While supporting the initiative of the Chairman, President KNSK, Lomei Konyak said that she will extend fully cooperation to ensure that the food reaches the targeted group. She also appraised the house and the authority to check and enquire regarding the transportation cost under food security schemes.  

The ADC Mon on behalf of the district administration assured to take up the responsibility to ensure that food security scheme is implemented properly in the district.  

Chairman DPDB also informed that a library hall in DCO (Cultural) office Mon has been launched recently and urged the members to avail the facilities provided for the people.
