Longleng, August 23 (MExN): Mongchemla block level federation was formed by the members of SHGs on 4th October 2017 with 176 (SHGs) from 15 villages. The required hand holding support has been provided by NSRLM. In future it will be registered as a cooperative under the national Co-operative societies Act.
A DIPR report stated that the Federation presently has 24 executive committee members constituted by the members SHGs. The federation has a target of catering service to its member and plans to form another six SHGs in 2019-2020. Now, NRLM is in the process of preparing the business plans for the BLF for the FY 2019-2020.
To support the cause, National Resource Person, Debashis Mandal empanelled by MoRD recently made a three day visit to Longleng from August 20 to 22. The first two days he visited few VLOs and SHGs from Yongnyah and Pongching Village to understand the loan pattern, repayment behavior of women members. Also, he assessed the future loan requirement by the SHGs which was required as part of the preparation of the BLF Business plan.
On the 3rd day he had a day-long meeting and interaction with the executive committee members of the BLF in the presence of the NSRLM staff to finalise and prepare the future projection as part of the final Business plan.
