Moot Court conducted at Kohima Law College

Kohima, October 3 (MExN): Kohima Law College conducted Moot Court with Professor-in-Charge Kezhokhoto Savi as judge of three moot problems consisting of civil, criminal and international cases.  

The objective of the Moot Court, Savi said, was to enable the law students to learn the practical knowledge and art of discussion on the point of law. Moot Court is part of the Bar Council of India Practical & Training course. Each law student is made to learn the proper knowledge of preparation of legal documents, arguing the case, art of cross-examination etc. during the course of LL.B degree, stated Savi in a press release.  

It was further informed that the BCI Practical & Training papers include several activities/ projects such as observance of court proceedings, legal interview technique in lawyer chambers, legal literacy and legal awareness campaign, research work, BCI cases, submission of assignments, attending seminar/workshops related to law topics, observance of important international days, viva-voce etc.  

This year, the college conducted the legal awareness campaign for the youth in several churches on the topic ‘Citizen Rights & Duties’. One of the big achievements, the release added, was that nine students were selected to attend Asian Conference for law students held at Bangkok, Thailand from August 11 to 16.
