Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): The Congress party today demanded that Parliamentary Secretary Dr. KC Nihoshe step down and stop being a mockery to the people of 35 Assembly Constituency Zunheboto and the Sumi people in general.
The president and vice president of Zunheboto 35 A/C, Khekuto Zhimomi and Hokhuvi Awomi today issued a statement mentioning the string of controversies that have kept the parliamentary secretary in the news. The ACCC mentioned the latest case involving his son one Heto Yepthomi being censured for using his tribal identity to confront reproach following a “situation” in Kohima; the NPSC scandal and the rape of a girl in Zunheboto as well as a dispute relating to a village, according to the
Congress.
The district unit of the Nagaland Congress also mentioned in its statement that Dr. Nihoshe has been engaging in unacceptable activities concerning including those concerning NPSC and NREGA.
The leaders of 35 ACCC Zunheboto has urged the Nagaland government to ‘seriously intervene.’ The Congress said Heto Yepthomi, son of parliamentary Secretary Dr. K C Nihoshe “main culprit in the NPSC scandal has sparked out once again by carrying the rifle in his possession in the state capital.”
The ACCC demanded to know for what reason he was “roaming with the gun” or it was “to attempt the Congress leaders or to threaten the head of the department?” Further, demanding to know if the rifle Heto was found carrying was licensed in his name, the ACC demanded response “for what purpose he was using the official vehicle of parliamentary secretary with the rifle?”
The ACC stated (verbatim): “In this regard we are sorry to mention that, Shri. K C Nihoshe Parliamentary Secretary and his family members are all using VIP head-light. And to the extend of raping a minor girl of DC Hill colony Zunheboto by Tito Kibami, Dr. Nihoshe's brother-in-laws son (sic), have manipulated the esteemed NPSC examination and rampant corruption under NREGA scheme which is now on the verge of complain…”
Also, the Congress said, Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Nihoshe had signed an affidavit “duely registered in the court of Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, in respect of his brother-in-law Kheshepu village issue before election.” The affidavit declared that his brother-in-law Kheshepu will not claim any more “that his farm to be a village in near future in the interest of YKK.”
But on winning the election and becoming parliamentary secretary, “he himself has pursue and revoked the abeyance order of Kheshepu village recognition,” the Congress leaders of Zunheboto explained. “And for the cause the YKK is still continuing resentment by burning Kheshepu's farm every now and then but instead of upholding the affidavit declaration as a responsible person, he is deploying the IRB and NAP time to time to suppress the right of the people which is still continuing.” This issue is known to the people of Nagaland “since it has appeared in the local news paper,” the ACCC explained.
Further, the ACCC advised against misguiding the people and cautioned the authority in concern “who have compromised the cases of 1. Rape case 2. NPSC scandal 3. Carrying the unauthorized rifle and threatening the NGO's leaders 4. Illegal recognition of Kheshepu village, manipulating and undermining the legitimate rights of the YKK, and against the state norms and criterias laid down by the state government in recognizing the village.”
The Congress challenged the people to think whether these issues are “compromisiable or not?” In the light of these cases, Dr. Nihoshe has not shown moral respect and till suppressing and manipulating the authorities in concern. It is a mockery to the people of the constituency and the Sumi people in general, the Congress said.
“Therefore we sincerely appeal to Dr. KC Nihoshe parliamentary secretary to step down honorably on moral ground in honoring the people’s mandate and sentiments or we shall not be a silent spectator anymore,” the Congress demanded. The chief minister of Nagaland on his part is asked to drop the parliamentary secretary in the interest of the Naga people.
